Mumbai, Oct. 14 -- Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has warned of strict action, including suspension, against government officials who skip drought review meetings by citing the Model Code of Conduct. He issued the warning after some ministers complained that officials were avoiding such meetings on the grounds of election-related restrictions.
Expressing strong displeasure, Fadnavis directed the ministers to submit the names of officials who had failed to attend the meetings.
"Give me the names of officials who are not attending drought review meetings citing the Model Code of Conduct. I will suspend all of them," he said.
The issue was discussed at a meeting of the Cabinet Sub-Committee on drought management.
