Mumbai, March 24 -- Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis informed the Assembly on Tuesday that appointments to the Local Crime Branch units across Maharashtra will be based strictly on merit, with priority given to officers who have demonstrated exceptional performance in their duties.

He made it clear that only eligible and deserving personnel would be selected for these crucial roles.
