Mumbai, Aug. 10 -- Breaking his silence on the political speculation surrounding opposition leaders meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Monday said there was nothing unusual or objectionable about such interactions.

Drawing on his own experience as Chief Minister, Fadnavis said opposition leaders routinely meet him to discuss public works and constituency-related issues, and urged people not to read political meanings into every such meeting.

Addressing the media on a range of issues, Fadnavis also strongly defended the Centre's proposed Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA) Bill, rejecting allegations that the legislation was aimed at any particular community or religion.
