Nagpur, March 22 -- In connection with the allegations surrounding facilities extended to controversial godman Ashok Kharat's institution, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Sunday questioned the Opposition's silence on who facilitated a 40-kilometre water pipeline to the establishment. The self-styled godman was arrested in Nashik last week in connection with complaints over his sexual misconduct including rape.
Fadnavis urged that the issue should not be viewed selectively or used for political gain.
He said that making baseless allegations serves no purpose and asserted that the matter is being investigated with seriousness based on intelligence inputs.
