Mumbai, Sept. 3 -- Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has condemned the alleged assault on social activist Vidyanand Bapat, who was reportedly attacked while speaking to the media in Pune about his opposition to loud DJ music during Ganeshotsav celebrations.

Fadnavis said everyone has the right to express their views and that violence cannot be justified in response to an opinion.

Bapat, who has consistently opposed the use of high-volume DJs during Pune's Ganeshotsav celebrations, was speaking to the media on Tilak Road when a young man allegedly slapped him.
