New Delhi, Aug. 9 -- The Delhi Police has put in place a multi-layered security apparatus at the Red Fort and adjoining areas ahead of the Independence Day celebrations on August 15, combining a large-scale deployment of security personnel with extensive technological surveillance.
DCP North Raja Banthia said the security plan has been structured around two key components, manpower deployment and technology-based surveillance.
Between 15,000 and 20,000 personnel drawn from different security and police units are expected to be deployed at and around the historic venue.
