Ranchi, Sept. 6 -- Marking the '40th National Eye Donation Fortnight', the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) emphasised on strengthening Jharkhand's eye care infrastructure alongside honoring the generosity of donor families.
At the Regional Institute of Ophthalmology, the State Eye Bank conducted 171 successful corneal transplants following 271 cornea retrievals. State Blindness Control Officer Dr. Pankaj Kumar said plans are in motion to establish dedicated eye banks in other government medical colleges, ensuring that corneal transplant facilities are not limited to the state capital.
