Berlin, Aug. 5 -- German police deployed a bomb disposal robot at Leipzig/Halle Airport after an explosive-equipped drone was discovered on the tarmac near a Ukrainian cargo aircraft, triggering security concerns and temporary disruption of flight operations.
The drone, fitted with explosives and a detonator, was found near an aircraft operated by Ukrainian cargo carrier Antonov Airlines, a NATO spokesperson confirmed on Wednesday. The suspicious device was later destroyed in a controlled explosion, according to reports.
