Varanasi, May 29 -- A two-day national workshop on "Issues and Challenges of the Current Mining Industry" was inaugurated on Friday at the Department of Mining Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology (Banaras Hindu University).
The workshop is being jointly organised by the Department of Mining Engineering, IIT (BHU) and the Directorate General of Mines Safety, Dhanbad.
The inaugural session was graced by the presence of academics, mining industry experts, and several distinguished dignitaries from regulatory bodies.
The program commenced with the lighting of a lamp, the laying of a wreath, and the distribution of mementos, followed by the recitation of the college song.
