Chandigarh, Aug. 31 -- The Punjab Excise Department conducted two major operations in Ludhiana East on August 30, dismantling a sophisticated racket filling premium liquor bottles with cheap alcohol and seizing smuggled liquor, Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema announced today.
In the first operation, excise teams, with local police support, uncovered a racket refilling high-end foreign liquor bottles, including Glenlivet, Johnnie Walker Gold Label, and Chivas Regal, with low-cost IMFL and PML. Two individuals, Amit Vij and Pankaj Saini, were arrested, and authorities seized 106 empty bottles, 39 refilled bottles, bottling equipment, and a Swift Dzire car.
