Agartala, Oct. 10 -- Former Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar, CPI(M) State Secretary Jitendra Chaudhury, along with several other party leaders, were detained by Delhi Police during a protest march held in the national capital today.
They joined the demonstration in support of the ongoing agitation led by left-wing student and youth organizations, responding to the call of the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) seeking removal of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar, CPI (M) State Secretary Chaudhury said on a Facebook Live.
Reports from supporters of the protest indicated that extensive security measures were in place throughout the morning, with police and paramilitary forces deployed across numerous locations.
