Mexico City, April 29 -- Former Spain and Real Madrid midfielder Sergio Canales has parted ways with Monterrey after almost three years with the Mexican club.

The 35-year-old posted a video on social media on Tuesday in which he expressed gratitude to Monterrey's fans.

"Saying goodbye to a place that has felt like home is never easy, which is why I struggle to findthe words," Canales said.

"I arrived at Rayados with great excitement to live an important stage of my professional career, and from day one I felt the love of these fans."Canales scored 46 goals and provided 22 assists in 118 appearances for Monterrey following his July 2023 move from Real Betis.
