Chennai, Oct. 2 -- Mr Raghavachari Govindarajan, father of former RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan, died heredue to old age.

He was 94.

He is survived by his wife and four sons.

He started his career with the Intelligence Bureau and was later shifted to RAW. He was also part of the foundingteam of RAW.

Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin today condoled the death former Raghavachari Govindarajan.

In his message, Mr Stalin expressed profound grief and sorrow over his death andrecalled his successful stint in the Intelligence Wing and as a RAW Official.

Mr Stalin said Mr Raghavachari Govindrajan had served with distinction in RAW right the day it was started forNational security measures.
