Kolkata, July 30 -- A woman who hails from Punjab approached West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari at his Janatar Durbar, alleging that her in-laws' ancestral property in South Kolkata had been illegally occupied.
In her complaint to the Chief Minister, she has named former Trinamool Congress MLA from Rashbehari and a mayoral council member of the Kolkata Municipal Corporation Debasish Kumar of involvement in the land grab.
Kiran Gupta, a resident of 21/GM, Manohar Pukur Road, told the chief minister that her in-laws' property on the same road had remained under illegal occupation for several years.
She alleged that the property was forcibly taken over and that a multi-storey building was subsequently constructed on the land.
