New Delhi, Aug. 28 -- A 26-year-old man accused of stabbing a woman to death at her home in West Delhi was arrested following an exchange of fire with police, said officials on Friday.

The accused, Imran, alias Aqib, was a former gym trainer and was previously involved in a 2021 case of assault and culpable homicide, Police officials said.

He has been on the run since allegedly stabbing 21-year-old Muskan, a Delhi University student, to death at her home in Tilak Nagar on Wednesday.

More than 15 police teams were formed to trace him, they said.
