Brussels, March 19 -- EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas has called for an urgent de-escalation of the Iran war, warning that continued fighting risks widening instability across the Middle East and undermining efforts to end Russia's war in Ukraine.
Speaking ahead of a European Council summit on Thursday, Kallas stressed that "an exit from the Iran war" is essential, arguing that further escalation are already reshaping global energy markets and indirectly strengthening Moscow's position.
"We need an exit from the Iran war, not an escalation," Kallas told reporters in Brussels.
She added that ending the conflict was as important as finding a solution to the war in Ukraine.
