Brussels, Aug. 29 -- The EU'S gas storage levels have fallen to one of the lowest seasonal positions on record, fuelling concerns about the coming winter as the Iran war disrupts energy supplies and Brussels continues efforts to phase out Russian gas, according to The Guardian.
EU gas storage facilities were around 64% full as of Friday, well below the roughly 80% average recorded around this point in recent years, according to the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Gas (ENTSOG).
The current level is lower than in several previous years. EU storage was around 66% full on August 29, 2021, and about 72% on the same date in 2013, although storage levels typically fall substantially during winter as heating demand increases...
