Etawah, July 17 -- A historic fort in Etawah is set to become Uttar Pradesh's newest eco-tourism attraction as the state government moves to combine heritage conservation with sustainable tourism infrastructure.

The Rs 1.44-crore makeover of Sumer Singh Fort will introduce green public spaces, modern visitor amenities and local culinary experiences while preserving the site's historic character.

The project has already received its first instalment of Rs 1.08 crore and aims to transform the fort precinct into a visitor-friendly destination that encourages environmentally responsible tourism while enhancing the site's cultural appeal.
