Srinagar, Aug. 29 -- The Economic Offences Wing (EOW), formerly known as Crime Branch Kashmir, today registered two fresh land fraud cases against two notorious fraudsters already facing trial in a similar scam.
The cases were registered against Riyaz Ahmad Bhat of Nowgam and Shabir Ahmad Wani of Lasjan who were arrested in July in connection with another property scam but were later granted bail by court.
The latest cases have been registered following separate complaints filed by a lady and a doctor.
In one case, a lady complainant alleged that accused Riyaz Bhat sold her a piece of land measuring 1 kanal and 5 marlas at Balhama against a payment of Rs 25 lakh. However, the land was never transferred to her and was instead sold to anot...
