Srinagar, June 19 -- The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Crime Branch Kashmir on Friday conducted a house search in Budgam district as part of an investigation into an alleged migrant land fraud case in Baramulla district, officials said.

EOW said the case pertains to an alleged land fraud and cheating involving migrant land measuring 14 kanals and 03 marlas situated at Goshbugh Pattan in Baramulla, which was sought to be sold through fraudulent means, fake agreements, and criminal conspiracy.

"During investigation, five accused persons were found involved in duping the complainant of crores of rupees on the pretext of sale of the land without the consent of the actual owner," the EOW said.
