Thiruvananthapuram, June 6 -- Stressing that environmental conservation and tourism development must go hand in hand, Kerala Tourism Minister P. C. Vishnunadh said the state government is planning a year-long environmental conservation and awareness campaign involving students and youth.
Addressing a programme in connection with World Environment Day yesterday, the Minister said Kerala's natural beauty remains the biggest strength of its tourism sector and preserving the environment is essential for the sustainable growth of tourism.
"Environmental conservation is complementary and vital to the growth of tourism. Protecting nature is indispensable for ensuring the long-term development of Kerala's tourism sector," he said.
