Kendrapara, July 15 -- A total of 116 nests of Estuarine crocodiles have been spotted across five wildlife and forest ranges under Bhitarkanika National Park.

Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) of Rajnagar Mangrove (Forest) and Wildlife Division, Sudarshan Gopinath Jadhav, said that last year, enumerators identified 114 crocodile nests in the Kanika, Gahirmatha, Mahakalapada, Rajnagar, and Kujanga forest and wildlife ranges under Bhitarkanika National Park.

According to DFO Jadhav, the maximum number of 104 nests was recorded in the Kanika forest and wildlife range.

Ten nests were found in the Rajnagar range, while one nest each was spotted in the Gahirmatha and Mahakalapada ranges. No crocodile nests were reported in the Kujanga forest div...
