Thiruvananthapuram, May 18 -- Ending a decade-long wait and marking the return of the Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) to power in Kerala, senior Congress leader V.D. Satheesan will today take oath as the 13th Chief Minister of the state in a massive swearing-in ceremony at the Central Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram.
Along with Satheesan, 20 ministers will also be sworn in, making it one of the biggest and most politically significant oath-taking ceremonies in recent Kerala history.
The swearing-in carries historic significance as this is the first time since the K. Karunakaran government in 1982 that the entire UDF Council of Ministers is taking oath (after 44 years) together.
