Mumbai, Feb. 12 -- England batter Harry Brook admitted his side were careful during their chase as they slipped to a 30-run defeat against West Indies in their ICC Men's T20 World Cup Group C encounter.

Chasing 197, England were bowled out for 166 in 19 overs despite a brisk start, with Sam Curran top-scoring with 43.

"One thing I would say is we were probably a little bit careful. Chasing nearly 200 is always a big ask, and we thought the pitch would get a little bit better and slide onto the bat a bit more, and that didn't happen," Brook said in the post-match presentation.

Brook conceded that England were not at their best with the ball and allowed West Indies to post a slightly above-par total.
