Guwahati, July 15 -- Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday linked the ongoing encroachement in Assam as a demographic invasion and said that the BJP led government in the state has so far recovered 160 square kms of illegally encroached land, which is more than the size of Chandigarh.

The chief minister said this while addressing a press conference on Tuesday and added that the BJP led government has so far cleared over 1.19 lakh bighas (160 square kms) of land from illegal encroachment since the BJP government came to power in Assam.
