Bhubaneswar, May 16 -- Eminent Indian epigraphy and paleography scholar Dr Subrat Kumar Acharya has underscored the urgent need for systematic text editing of India's vast repository of ancient manuscripts, stressing that a significant portion of the country's literary wealth remains unexplored.

Addressing the inaugural session of a week-long workshop on Text Editing at SOA Deemed to be University in Bhubaneswar, Dr Acharya said India's rich literary tradition, particularly Sanskrit epics and ancient scriptures, holds immense scholarly value, but only around 20 percent of the available texts have been edited so far.
