Lucknow, Nov. 11 -- Uttar Pradesh's Urban Development and Energy Minister AK Sharma today announced the launch of the 'Electricity Bill Relief Scheme 2025' which will benefit both never-paid and long-unpaid consumers.

Addressing a press conference here, the Minister said that under the scheme, a historic decision has been taken to provide a 100 percent surcharge waiver and up to 25 percent principal rebate for a one-time payment of the outstanding amount. "The government's objective is to ensure that no consumer is burdened by the burden of electricity bills and to strengthen the state's power distribution system financially," he said.
