Kakinada, Oct. 17 -- An electric-powered fishing boat successfully completed its trial run in the sea off Kakinada on Saturday in the presence of City MLA Vanamadi Kondababu, raising hopes of reducing fuel costs and improving the economic prospects of fishermen.
The boat was manufactured by Sura Ventures using foreign technology.
Kondababu attended the trial run as the chief guest and expressed happiness over its successful operation, describing the initiative as a potential game-changer for the fishing sector.
He said electric boats could offer fishermen the dual benefits of pollution-free sailing and reduced fuel expenditure.
