Mumbai, Nov. 5 -- Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) General Secretary Sandeep Deshpande today strongly criticized the Election Commission for conducting elections with "faulty voter lists", alleging that the decision was taken under pressure from the ruling government.
Deshpande said that the Election Commission was hiding behind the Supreme Court's directions to justify conducting local body elections, but the Supreme Court has never directed elections to be held with defective voter lists. He added that senior MNS leaders would decide whether to legally challenge the Commission's decision.
