Nagpur, May 22 -- An elderly woman was brutally murdered by slitting her throat in the Lashkari Bagh area under the jurisdiction of Panchpaoli Police Station in Nagpur on Friday morning, police said.
The deceased has been identified as Indu Chauhan (65). She was living with her husband in the area.
According to preliminary information, the incident came to light on Friday morning when after filling the water tank, husband Kishore Chavan went upstairs to check on his wife.
Despite repeatedly calling out, when the door did not open, he noticed that the room was locked from the outside and the key was hanging on a nearby hook.
As he approached the room, a strong foul smell started coming from inside.
