Patna, Nov. 5 -- Director General of Police (DGP) Vinay Kumar on Wednesday said that elaborate security arrangements have been made for peacefully conducting the first phase of polling in 121 assembly constituencies on Thursday.

Kumar said here that security has been tightened to ensure free and fair elections and warned that strict action would be initiated against the trouble mongers who would be under strict surveillance of the security personal across the state tomorrow.

Sharing details of the deployments, he said that 1,650 companies of security forces have been deployed to cover all polling booths and key buildings. Elaborate measures for patrolling have been put in place to maintain law and order throughout the polling period.
