Bengaluru, July 4 -- The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Karnataka has run into controversy after the Kolar district administration issued notices to eight election officials, including a tahsildar and an assistant commissioner, over alleged violations of the Election Commission's prescribed verification procedure.

The action follows allegations that officials entrusted with the revision exercise failed to conduct mandatory door-to-door verification and instead assembled voters at a common location to complete the process, prompting disciplinary proceedings.
