Lucknow, May 28 -- The festival of Eid al-Adha (Bakrid) is being celebrated across Uttar Pradesh, amid an atmosphere of devotion, joy, and brotherhood.
Members of the Muslim community offered prayers at Eidgahs and mosques in various districts of the state, praying for peace, progress, and prosperity in the country, and exchanging greetings.
At home they prepared traditional dishes, while guests were treated to a feast throughout the day.
Due to the large number of worshippers, prayers are being offered in two shifts in most places. Thousands of people offered Bakrid prayers at the Taj Mahal complex in Agra, including some Nigerian tourists.
