Lucknow, Nov. 4 -- Uttar Pradesh Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh, said that serious efforts are underway to include the Salkhan Fossil Park, located in Sonbhadra district, in the permanent list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

The park, located in Salkhan village, Sonbhadra district, Uttar Pradesh, near the Kaimur Wildlife Sanctuary, covers an area of approximately 25 hectares and is one of the largest fossil parks in India. Singh has sent a letter to union Tourism and Culture Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat in September 2025 requesting Salkhan Park's inclusion in the permanent list of World Heritage Sites.
