Neeraj BaliChandigarh, Sept. 9 -- The Enforcement Directorate has summoned Mohali's senior superintendent of police to provide records and details of a police probe linked to alleged fraud against farmers in the Suntec City project, as the agency steps up its investigation into suspected irregularities surrounding the development.
The SSP has been asked to appear before the federal agency on Sept. 10, people familiar with the matter said.
The ED's investigation under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act is linked to an FIR filed at Mullanpur police station in November 2022. Farmers and landowners had alleged that their consent documents were fabricated and subsequently used to secure change-of-land-use (CLU) approvals for the project.
