Belagavi, June 25 -- The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Thursday conducted coordinated searches at multiple locations linked to Y Manjunath, Additional Commissioner in the Karnataka Excise Department and brother-in-law of Karnataka Minister Satish Jarkiholi, in a move that has triggered political attention in the state.
The searches reportedly were carried out simultaneously at around six premises associated with Manjunath across Belagavi, Bengaluru, Mysuru and Arsikere in Hassan district. Manjunath is presently serving in Bengaluru.
The ED has not yet disclosed the grounds for the searches or issued an official statement on the operation. However, the action assumes significance given Manjunath's senior position in the Excise Department...
