Bhubaneswar, July 2 -- The Khurda Road Division of East Coast Railway (ECoR) has recorded its highest-ever ticket checking earnings of Rs 15.63 crore during the first quarter (April-June) of the 2026-27 financial year, reflecting intensified enforcement against ticketless travel and revenue protection measures.
Railway sources said the Division detected and penalised 2.37 lakh cases of ticketless travel, irregular travel and unbooked luggage during the quarter, compared to 1.92 lakh cases in the corresponding period last year.
The record earnings underscore the Division's sustained efforts to curb ticketless travel and safeguard railway revenue through rigorous ticket checking drives.
