Kolkata, Nov. 8 -- The Election Commission of India (ECI) has warned that booth-level officers (BLOs) in West Bengal skipping mandatory door-to-door visits while distributing enumeration forms for the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) will face stringent disciplinary action.
According to sources in the office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), West Bengal, the Commission has instructed both the CEO and the District Electoral Officers (DEOs) to take action as per rules against any BLO found violating the directive.
The ECI has further directed that any instance of a BLO delegating the distribution of enumeration forms to a third party - including relatives, friends, or political acquaintances - will be treated as a serious breach...
