ECI to release final SIR list in UP on April 10, total voters likely to be over 132.5 million

Lucknow, March 28 -- Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter list in Uttar Pradesh conducted by Election Commission of India (ECI) on verification of names in the electoral rolls have been completed.

According to sources here, final publication of electoral rolls will be made on April 10.

As per the assessment, the final list is expected to contain over 132.5 million voters which will be less by around 20 million voters. Before the state of the SIR there were around 152 million voters in UP.

UP Chief Electoral Officer Navdeep Rinwa said on Saturday that final publication of voter list would be made on April 10.

He said preparations are currently underway to finalise the list following document verification and hearings.
