Kolkata, April 13 -- With just ten days remaining for the first phase of the West Bengal Assembly elections scheduled on April 23, a high-level team from the Election Commission is set to visit the state for a three-day review of poll preparedness.

The delegation will be led by Deputy Election Commissioner Gyanesh Bharti, accompanied by two other senior officials, according to sources.

The Commission's representatives will conduct on-ground inspections rather than relying solely on reports, signalling a hands-on approach to ensuring free and fair elections.

Their visit comes at a time when state election authorities have already intensified monitoring efforts across districts.
