New Delhi, Sept. 25 -- union Minister and BJP ally Chirag Paswan on Friday said the Election Commission of India (ECI), particularly Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, must firmly respond to questions raised by the Opposition over the electoral process to ensure that public trust in elections is not eroded.
The Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) leader was responding to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's press conference on Thursday, in which Gandhi criticised the Narendra Modi government and called for Kumar's resignation amid the ongoing controversy over the Election Commission's Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise.
