Kolkata, Nov. 6 -- The Election Commission of India (ECI) has decided to act strictly against irregularities reported during the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in West Bengal, even as over 1.10 crore enumeration forms have already been distributed across the state.
According to sources from the Chief Electoral Officer's (CEO) office, the decision comes after reports that some booth-level officers (BLOs) were allowing third parties, including relatives and political associates,to distribute forms on their behalf, violating ECI guidelines.
