Chennai, Sept. 7 -- The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Monday annnounced bye-elections to two of the seven Assembly seats and the lone seat in Puducherry on October six.
The elections to Madurantakam (R) and Tharapuram (R) in TN, which were notified vacant after Oppostiion AIADMK MLAs Ms.Maragatham Kumaravel and Ms P.Sathyabama respectively resigned their posts, while the Thattanchavady seat in neighbouring union Territory fell vacant following the resignation of Chief Minister and AINRC Founder N.Rengasamy, who won from two seats and chose to retain the Mangalam seat.
The filing of nomnations will commence on September nine with the issuance of notification. The last date for filing of nominations is September 16 and the scrutiny ...
