Nagpur, May 28 -- : A 47-year-old woman who arrived in Nagpur from Uganda, a country affected by the Ebola virus outbreak, has been placed under home quarantine as a precautionary measure, prompting heightened surveillance by health authorities in the city, officials said on Thursday.

Officials of the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) and the health department said the woman arrived in Nagpur via Mumbai on May 23 and was quarantined on the same day after authorities received information about her travel history.

According to officials, the woman has not shown any symptoms of Ebola infection so far and is under continuous observation by a civic health team.
