Bhubaneswar, April 9 -- East Coast Railway (ECoR) is redefining railway security with a cutting-edge, eco-friendly initiative, aiming to install over 2,500 solar-powered CCTV cameras across its divisions by June 2026.

The ambitious expansion is set to transform monitoring of vulnerable railway assets and passenger areas, marking one of the largest security upgrades in Indian Railways' history. Already, 166 solar CCTV cameras have been commissioned across Waltair (113), Sambalpur (47), and Khurda Road (6) divisions.
