Ranchi, March 2 -- Jharkhand has witnessed an unusually sharp rise in temperatures at the very beginning of March, with several districts experiencing heatwave-like conditions typically seen in May and June.

Southern districts, including Jamshedpur, Latehar and Seraikela-Kharsawan, have reported intense sunlight and rising day as well as night temperatures, affecting daily life.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the minimum temperature in the past 24 hours in Jamshedpur and Latehar was recorded at 18.6degC, leading to warmer nights.
