Rajamahendravaram, May 25 -- Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan on Monday expressed dissatisfaction over the rising pollution levels in the Godavari and directed the officials to ensure that the river water is cleansed within six months before the start of the Pushkarams.

At a review meeting, he expressed displeasure over the tardy progress of preparations for Pushkarams and cautioned against creating a situation where people feel they are taking holy dips in filthy water.

He noted that while the government intends to conduct the 'Godavari Pushkarams' on the lines of the 'Kumbh Mela', the administrative machinery lacks the necessary preparedness to execute it accordingly.
