Hyderabad, July 3 -- Telangana Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Bhatti Vikramarka on Friday accused the previous BRS government of pushing the state into a debt trap of Rs 8.21 lakh crore and challenged former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) to a public debate on the state's finances.
Addressing a press conference at the Secretariat, Bhatti alleged that BRS leaders K T Rama Rao and T Harish Rao were running a "Goebbels-style" misinformation campaign to conceal the financial burden left by the previous regime.
He said the Congress government had repaid Rs 2.08 lakh crore, including principal and interest, in the last two-and-a-half years while restructuring high-interest loans, reducing the repayment burden from Rs 34,0...
