Hyderabad, July 3 -- Telangana Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Bhatti Vikramarka on Friday accused the previous BRS government of pushing the state into a debt trap of Rs 8.21 lakh crore and challenged former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) to a public debate on the state's finances.

Addressing a press conference at the Secretariat, Bhatti alleged that BRS leaders K T Rama Rao and T Harish Rao were running a "Goebbels-style" misinformation campaign to conceal the financial burden left by the previous regime.
