New Delhi, May 12 -- Delhi government has made it mandatory to make use of high-density dust screens across the construction and demolition (C&D) sites, to ensure dust mitigation, in order to prevent pollution.

As per the latest directions issued by the Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC), the minimum thickness of green nets to be used at the C&D sites has now been fixed at 100 GSM, and all project proponents must comply with the specification with immediate effect.

This important decision has been taken in view of the substantial contribution of construction and demolition activities to dust pollution, environment minister Manjinder Sirsa has said.
