New Delhi, Sept. 5 -- East Zone captain Ishan Kishan and South Zone skipper Tilak Varma face a quick change of formats after the Duleep Trophy final, with India's three-match T20I series against Afghanistan beginning just days later in Delhi.

The five-day final starts in Chennai on Sunday, leaving Kishan and Tilak with limited time to switch from red-ball cricket to T20s. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, East Zone's vice-captain, will also have only three days between the domestic final and the Afghanistan series.

Kishan acknowledged that the turnaround will be challenging but believes adapting to different formats is part of being a professional cricketer.
